Elections chief presents to colleagues

Bradford County Supervisor of Elections Amanda Seyfang talks to other Florida elections officials about using the state’s Driver and Vehicle Information Database to verify voter information.

Bradford County Supervisor of Elections Amanda Seyfang recently spoke to a meeting of small county elections officials in Sebring.

Seyfang talked about how supervisors of elections can use the state’s Driver and Vehicle Information Database to verify voter information. The Bradford supervisor said that because of access restrictions and the reporting and auditing standards required to view the state database, some county elections officials don’t bother using the tool.

Other topics covered during the small county supervisors meeting included cyber security, communications, and pending legislation. Seyfang said one bill recently filed would require a law enforcement officer to escort all ballot boxes moved between supervisors’ offices and precincts.
