LAKE BUTLER — The Union County High School FFA Ag Issues Team has been making the rounds, giving informative presentations about the new 2023 Farm Bill at several public meetings.

They have made their presentation at the meetings of both the Board of County Commissioners and the Lake Butler City Commission, as well the Union County School Board.

The team of four must do five presentations of their program locally, as well as perform it in competition. The students worked together to design the program and each gives a portion of the talk.

According to the information given in the presentation, the previous 2018 Farm Bill did not address current agriculture issues and does not adapt to change. The same is feared for the 2023 bill, which is still being drafted and is not expected to be finished and become law until September of this year.

Members of the UCHS FFA Ag Issues Team are Cailynn Boggs, Tanner Connell, Jordan Hendricks and Rylie Parish.
