They’re not sporting the blue jackets you might expect, but these FFA members are doing what they do best —soaking up new information so they can help make their mark on the future.

Forty-four members of the Bradford Middle and Senior FFA chapters attended the Sunbelt Ag Expo in Moultrie, Georgia, The expo showcases the latest in equipment and technology as well as many agriculture colleges in the Southeast.
At the Subdistrict Speaking Contests, Kyndall Key (BHS) and Tucker Griffis (BMS) placed first in extemporaneous public speaking. Chloe Anderson (BHS) placed third in prepared public speaking. The BMS opening and closing ceremonies team placed third. BHS’ Alexandra McFarland was elected 2023 subdistrict chair.

Bradford Middle and Senior chapters attended the Chapter Officer Leadership Training in High Springs. The conference is open to officers and other chapter members who are interested in developing their leadership skills in FFA. This one day conference is part of the leadership development continuum throughout the year offered by Florida FFA.
Kyndall Key and Kelsey Reddish spoke to the Starke Woman’s Club about how FFA has impacted their lives and that of their fellow members. From access, equity and inclusion to career skills and financial gains, FFA members are exposed to many opportunities to become leaders in their community.

Moving on to district competition Kyndall Key and Tucker Griffis will be asked to write, prepare and deliver speeches in 30 minutes.
High school FFA members Mathew Stafford, Cody Spratlin, Brooklynn Reddish and Kencie Wainwright were ninth in the state at the environmental contest.
At the food science contest, middle school FFA members Brandy Hall, Trevor Clements, Berkley Reddish and Braelyn Brown came in fourth in the state. They will be recognized at the state convention.
