STARKE—Bradford deputies arrested a 19-year-old KFC employee after accusing her of taking pictures of customer credit cards, then using the photos to make fraudulent purchases.
Marquerva Tytianna Latori Lumar of Starke was arrested for fraud and illegal use of credit cards.
According to an arrest report, deputies started their investigation after a victim showed officers a $342.40 charge to Dynasty Boutique he did not make.
“(The victim) contacted VyStar Credit Union Services to inform them of the transaction,” wrote a deputy in the report. “(The victim) was informed by VyStar that his account was already on hold due to an additional suspicious transaction of $165 at the online apparel store of Ralph Lauren.”
Dynasty Boutique, a Newberry Road retailer in Gainesville provided Bradford Sheriff’s Detective Jason Crews with a copy of the defendant’s driver license.
Crews wrote that after Lumar was arrested on an unrelated Alachua County warrant, he interviewed the defendant at the sheriff’s office.
“Lumar confessed to working at KFC in Starke, Florida and taking multiple pictures and videos of customers’ credit cards while working the drive-thru,” Crews wrote. “Lumar stated that she only took a picture of a few cards but only tried two of the cards for online purchases.”
Crews added that Lumar claimed she attempted to buy a necklace from a company on lnstagram, clothes from Ralph Lauren and hair supplies from Dynasty Boutique.
