STARKE — As discount tool retailer Harbor Freight begins work on its future space in Bradford Square Shopping Center, Starke is announcing the store will also have a new neighbor.
Five Below will also be setting up shop in Bradford Square, according to City Manager Drew Mullins.
While there is no timeline for the opening of either store, work is underway on the Harbor Freight site and plans have recently been submitted for Five Below.
For those unfamiliar, Five Below is a dollar store of a different sort. Products on the shelf range from $1 to $5. A few items surpassing that price fall into the “Five Beyond” category. It is unlike other dollar stores in that the focus since the beginning has been on youth, letting go and having fun. From cool tech and creative design to candy, toys and games, it’s a place to blow an allowance.

Products include room and holiday décor, toys and games, sports gear, technology, beauty (think skin care, nails and lip gloss) and style (including clothing, jewelry and shoes), personal care, arts and crafts materials, pet supplies, candy and snacks, party supplies, books and more.
Founded in Philadelphia in 2002, the chain retailer has 1,200 stores nationwide and 133 stores in Florida, including three in Gainesville and six in Jacksonville and Jacksonville Beach. It has ambition to open hundreds more stores.
