Representatives of the Bradford Food Pantry were overjoyed to receive one of the first $20,000 grant ever awarded by the Clay Electric Foundation as a result of the Round Up program from Clay Electric customers.

The previous limit was $15,000 and was raised in January.

According to Food Pantry President Bob Milner, the pantry will use the funds to purchase and install a walk-in freezer measuring 12x8x12 feet.

“This will have a tremendous positive impact on our ability to accept and store frozen meat in much larger quantities than we have been limited to, and we cannot thank the Clay Electric Foundation and their customers enough,” he said.

Milner added that when Bradford County has a declared emergency requiring housing by emergency management, the food pantry can better assist in providing meat and other goods as well as its weekly distributions.
