KEYSTONE HEIGHTS—Clay Electric said its foundation awarded 13 organizations $165,900 in March. Lake Area Ministries in Keystone Heights and the Foundation for Florida Gateway College led the nonprofits in gifts, receiving $20,000 each.
Clay Electric said the Lake Region food bank will use its funds to finance its food assistance program. The college foundation will use its grant to fund eight commercial vehicle driving program scholarships.
Additional local charities receiving grants were the Starke Kiwanis Club to support math and science education programs for K-12 students and the ACORN Dental Clinic near Brooker to provide dental services to rural residents.
Other organizations receiving grants were St. Catherine’s Society of St. Vincent de Paul – $15,000, YMCA of Florida’s First Coast Take Stock in Children – $14,000, Clay County Habitat for Humanity – $15,000, BASCA Inc. – $9,400, Child Evangelism Fellowship of Florida/Camp Good News – $10,000, Art League of North Florida/Gateway Art Gallery – $5,500, Operation New Uniform – $10,000, United Way of Suwannee Valley – $10,000 and ACE Mentor Program – $12,000.
