KEYSTONE HEIGHTS— The Freedom 5K Run will kick off the 55th annual Our Country Day in Keystone Heights on July 4th. The run benefits the Jordan Cooper Memorial Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships to Keystone Heights High School seniors.
From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the city will host vendors and food trucks around city hall.
The Kiwanis Our Country Day Parade starts at 11 a.m.
Live music starts at Keystone Beach at 5 p.m., with the fireworks show beginning at 9:30.
Other events include:
12:15 p.m.: Johnny’s BBQ Hot Dog Eating Contest;
12:45 p.m.: Pie and Cobbler Contest presented by the Keystone Heights Heritage Commission;
12:30-3:30 p.m.: Dunk Tank;
12-4 p.m.: Classic Car Show presented by Hoodz of Gainesville.
Entry into Keystone Beach Park will require each spectator to have an armband. The cost is $1 and can be bought at city hall before the 4th of July or $2 at the gate.
