Griffin, Shaw win events for Keystone at Menendez track and field meet

Tyler Griffin and Kiersten Shaw each won an event for the Keystone Heights High School boys and girls track and field teams at Pedro Menendez’s Falcon Friday event on Feb. 24.

Griffin ran a first-place time of 2:08 in the 800m, while also placing fourth in the 1600m with a time of 4:53.

Shaw took first in the high jump by clearing 4-8.25. She was also the runner-up in the long jump with a distance of 15-11.75 and third in the 100m hurdles with a time of 17.70.

Keystone also got points in the girls high jump from Alexis Taylor and Brianna Hogan. Taylor was third (4-8.25), while Hogan was seventh (4-6.25).

Shepherd Rozier earned points for the boys team in two events, placing fourth in the 400m (53.89) and seventh in the long jump (19-6.25).

Jacob Stahman didn’t earn points, but he did earn a top-10 finish, placing ninth in the boys 800m with a time of 2:22.
