After losing to Branford — its first meeting against a public school — the Hope Christian Lions boys basketball team has reeled off four straight wins, with its latest victory coming by a score of 72-54 against visiting Open Bible Christian (Valdosta, Georgia), on Dec. 9.
The game against Open Bible actually featured the smallest margin of victory for the Lions (6-1), who are rolling over their fellow Christian-school teams. During the four-game stretch following their 78-46 loss to host Branford on Nov. 29, the Lions have been outscoring their opponents by an average of 32 points. Hope defeated host Westwood Christian (Live Oak) 82-22 on Dec. 2 and followed that with a 70-42 win over host New Testament Christian (Madison) on Dec. 3.
Hope defeated Gainesville Christian Community 66-45 on Dec. 7 before winning its fourth straight against Open Bible.
