“He has the right to be defended. I intend to do so.”

Roger Crews

Starke-based attorney Dan Sikes, who is defending 39-year-old Roger Crews against obscene communications charges, lashed out at his client’s social media critics on Monday.

Crews was arrested by Bradford deputies on June 16 on an out-of-county warrant for two counts of attempting to solicit, lure, or entice a person believed to be a parent, legal guardian, or custodian of a child to consent to the participation of such child…in sexual conduct.

In a Monday telephone interview, Sikes responded to his client’s social media haters, saying he was “profoundly disappointed by the reaction of some of these people about Roger,” and adding that his client has a presumption of innocence.

“He has the right to be defended,” Sikes said. “I intend to do so.”
