A residential house fire shut down portions of County Road 352, resulting in the loss of a resident’s home.

The fire occurred at 5395 County Road 352 in Keystone Heights on Sunday, January 18th, at 1:30 p.m.

Due to the trees surrounding the home, there was a significant concern about the fire spreading quickly, given the weather conditions. The National Weather Service reported estimated wind gusts of 25 mph due to a cold front, which made battling the fire even more challenging, coupled with the low temperatures.

According to witnesses, the occupant of the home was an older man, a long-time resident who was not injured; he unfortunately lost his home in the blaze.
