Indians earn another 8-0 win in boys soccer

Keystone Heights High School boys soccer fans probably felt like they were experiencing déjá vu watching the Indians’ latest win, which came by a score of 8-0 over visiting Trenton on Nov. 21.

It was the second straight match in which the Indians (5-1-1) had a 6-0 first-half lead and ended the game via the mercy rule before the second-half water break.

Aaron Wiley scored four goals and now has at least two goals in five straight matches. Keystone also got one goal each from Luke Brunt, Noah Jaramillo, Kipton Spence and Sammy Wacha.

Wacha led the team in assists with two, while the following had one each: Brunt, Jaramillo, Spence, Wiley and Ryder Thomas.

It was the third shutout for goalie Elijah Ortiz.

Keystone, which has won four in a row, entered the match off an 8-0 win over host Fort White on Nov. 19, getting three goals and an assist from Wiley.

Jaramillo scored two goals, while Brunt and Trenton Noble each had one.

A Fort White own goal was also part of the scoring total.

Brunt and Spence each had two assists. Wacha added one.

The Indians return to action with a road match against District 4-3A opponent Santa Fe on Monday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. Keystone hosts Columbia on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 7:20 p.m.
