Indians fall 5-1 to Fernandina in boys soccer

Trenton Noble scored the only goal in the Keystone Heights High School boys soccer team’s 5-1 loss at Fernandina Beach on Nov. 14.

The loss capped an 0-2-1 week that began with a 5-0 loss at Columbia on Nov. 10. The Indians (2-3-1) then finished in a 2-2 tie against visiting Crescent City on Nov. 12. Keystone trailed 2-0 before scoring in the final nine minutes, getting goals from Noah Jaramillo and Sammy Wacha. Wacha and Nathan Benson each had one assist.

Keystone’s junior varsity team won its first two matches, defeating Columbia 2-1 on Nov. 10 and Crescent City 4-0 on Nov. 12. Luke Buchanan scored three goals in the win over Crescent City, which also featured a penalty kick goal from Justin Perez and assists from Theo Taylor and Bentley Tillman.

The Indians travel to play Middleburg on Tuesday, Nov. 18, with the JV teams playing at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity teams playing at 7:20 p.m. Keystone hosts Williston on Thursday, Nov. 20, with the JV and varsity teams playing at 5:30 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. Keystone’s varsity team travels to play West Nassau on Friday, Nov. 21, at 7:20 p.m.
