Indians qualify for volleyball regionals

Mackenzie Castelvecchi and the Indians are the seventh seed in the eight-team Region 2-3A playoffs. Keystone will travel to play second seed Montverde Academy on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m.

Keystone Heights High School was awarded the seventh seed in the Region 2-3A volleyball playoffs and will travel to play second seed Montverde Academy (17-5) in a quarterfinal match on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m.

If the Indians (17-10) defeat Montverde, they’ll travel to play either third seed Lakeland McKeel Academy (16-8) or sixth seed Newberry (19-8) in a semifinal match on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 2 p.m.

The other quarterfinal matchups in the Region 2-3A playoffs are top seed Lake Highland Prep (20-6) vs. eighth seed Pierson Taylor (18-9) and fourth seed Titusville Astronaut (20-7) vs. fifth seed The Villages (14-13).

Keystone is coming off a 3-0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-23) loss to Newberry in the Oct. 16 District 5 championship match.
