Dalton Hollingsworth drove in two of his three runs as part of a 10-run fourth inning, helping the Keystone Heights High School baseball team defeat host Yulee 12-1 in five innings on April 4.
With the game tied at 1-1, Noah Branch led off the top of the fourth with a single. Bryce Hart reached on an error that scored Branch. After Alex Addington reached on an error, Hollingsworth hit an RBI single. It was the first of three consecutive singles, with Conner Guy driving in two runs on one and Ryan Jones driving in one run on the other. After Jeremy Miller reached on an error, Gage Smith drove in a run on a scacrifice fly. Chase Packham and Branch then hit back-to-back RBI singles. Keystone loaded the bases when Hart walked and Addington singled. Hollingsworth then hit his second RBI single of the inning, while Hart would later score on a passed ball.
Hollingsworth went 3 for 5, while Packham went 3 for 4 with an RBI.
Guy finished with two RBI, while Addington, Branch, Jones and Smith each had one. Branch and Addington went 2 for 3 and 2 for 4, respectively.
Cole Cumbus pitched a complete game, giving up three hits and no walks, while striking out four.
Keystone (5-7) entered the game off a 9-6 road win over Baldwin on March 30.
Guy’s two-run single in the fourth helped the Indians take a 4-0 lead, but Baldwin scored three in the bottom of the inning.
In the top of the fifth, Miller was hit by a pitch, while Smith and Packham walked, loading the bases. Hart hit a ground ball, driving in a run and reaching on an error. Addington then drove in a run on sacrifice fly to put Keystone ahead 6-3.
Two hit batters with the bases loaded resulted in two Baldwin runs in the sixth, making it a 6-5 game.
In the top of the seventh, Hart walked and advanced to second on Addington’s sacrifice bunt. With two outs, Guy hit an RBI double. After Jones walked, Miller drove in two more runs on a single.
Baldwin scored the final runs in on a two-out RBI double in the bottom of the seventh. A fly out ended the game.
Addington and Guy each drove in three runs, with Addington going 2 for 3 and Guy going 2 for 5. Miller had two RBI, while Hart had one.
Packham and Hollingsworth went 2 for 3 and 2 for 4, respectively.
The Indians played Williston and Orange Park this past Tuesday and Wednesday. They travel to play Fort White on Thursday, April 7, at 6 p.m. before returning home to play Williston on Monday, April 11, at 7 p.m. On Tuesday, April 12, Keystone travels to play Union County at 7 p.m.
