Keystone Heights and Union County high schools will continue their softball seasons after receiving at-large postseason berths in their respective regions.
The Indians (9-16) are the seventh seed in Region 2-2A and will travel to Ocala to play second seed Trinity Catholic (19-8) in a quarterfinal game on Wednesday, May 7, at 7 p.m. If Keystone defeats the Celtics, it will travel to play third seed Melbourne Central Catholic (19-3) or sixth seed Windermere Prep (15-5) in a semifinal game on Tuesday, May 13, at 7 p.m.
Other teams in the region include top seed Montverde Academy (25-2), fourth seed Cornerstone Charter (18-9), fifth seed Newberry (20-5) and eighth seed The First Academy (10-13).
Union (15-8) earned the fourth seed in Region 3-Rural and will travel to play top seed Madison County (18-1) in a semifinal game on Thursday, May 8, at 7 p.m. If the Tigers win, they’ll travel to play second seed Branford (18-6) or third seed Fort White (17-6) for the Region 3 championship on Tuesday, May 13, at 7 p.m.
