Indians to play for girls soccer district title

Halea Lam and Ryleigh Thomas each scored two goals for the second seed Keystone Heights High School girls soccer team, which defeated third seed North Marion 7-0 in a Jan. 22 semifinal match in the District 4-3A tournament at Interlachen High School.

Keystone (7-11-3) will play top seed Interlachen for the championship on Monday, Jan. 26, at 6 p.m. in Interlachen. Interlachen (13-6-2) advanced to the championship match off a 5-0 win over fourth seed Eastside.

In defeating North Marion (10-5-1), the Indians also got one goal each from Kayden Huntley, Kaylee Park and Alyssa Townsend.

Huntley and Lam each had two assists, while Park, Kayle Buchanan and Tayler Buchanan each had one.

Sophia Garcia made five saves in goal.

Keystone and Interlachen played once during the regular season, with the match ending in a 1-1 tie.

The Indians entered the tournament off a 6-1 home loss to Episcopal on Jan. 16. Park scored the lone goal off a Tayler Buchanan assist.
