DAYTONA BEACH—The Keystone Heights JROTC color guard presented the colors prior to the NEXTera Energy 250 on Friday, Feb. 18 and made a second appearance at the superspeedway the following day prior to Saturday’s Beef. It’s What’s for Dinner 300.
The group’s instructor, Lt. Col. Richard Hall said the trip was made possible by the JROTC Boosters, American Legion Post 202, AMVETS Post 86 the Daughters of the American Revolution and Lake Region Kiwanis.
Hall added that several parents made the trip to Daytona.
The color guard participated in last year’s Daytona Supercross. Hall said that this year’s events were much bigger than the 2021 race and his group garnered coverage on the facility’s jumbotron as well as on Fox Sports.
He added that a Jacksonville television station is coming to the campus today to interview the guard.
