STARKE— A Judge sentenced a 33-year-old Starke man to 24 months’ probation and prohibited him from using corporal punishment after the defendant pleaded to child abuse.
Judge James M. Colaw also ordered Ceddrick Lanard Pittman to attend a battery intervention class and parenting course.
According to court papers, the 33-year-old was arrested after his daughter stayed with him over a weekend in December 2022. Following the weekend visit, the child’s mother took the daughter to an emergency room for severe bruising on her backside, leg and ankles. The victim told deputies her father spanked her for posting a video on TikTok that he did not like.
