Katelyn Seay is 1st for UCHS in match in Starke

Katelyn Seay, who made par on two holes, shot a first-place score of 51 for the Union County girls golf team, which played a match hosted by Bradford High School at the Starke Golf and Country Club on Sept. 4.

The Tigers had a team score of 234, while Bradford had only one player.

Kerissa Seay and Summer Shaw placed second and third, respectively, for Union with scores of 54 and 64, while Sierra Bell and Sophia Elixson tied for fourth, with each shooting a 65.

The Tornadoes’ Alexis Fuhrman had a score of 66.

Union entered the match off a third-place finish in a Sept. 2 match at Lake City’s Quail Heights Country Club that also featured Branford and Columbia.

Columbia took first as a team with a score of 181. Branford and Union had scores of 215 and 253, respectively.

Katelyn Seay led the Tigers with a seventh-place score of 56, while Elixson shot a 60 to finish in a two-way tie for eighth.

Kerissa Seay and Shaw had scores of 66 and 71, respectively.

The Tigers will play Columbia and Keystone Heights on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 3:30 p.m. at Quail Heights.
