Keystone FFA chapters are premier

Keystone Heights High School FFA winners in December’s sub-district competition include 1st Place Opening and Closing Ceremonies: Kaleigh Coffey, Victoria Horne, Carson Wilson, Juliette Marini, Savannah Rathjen, Brooke Brinson, and Rachel Blank; 1st Place Prepared Public Speaking: Briley Kendrick; 2nd Place Extemporaneous Public Speaking: Jenna Moss; 2nd Place Creed Speaking: Madison Bennett; and 2nd Place Safe Tractor Operation & Maintenance: Jayden Goodman.

Florida FFA awarded the 2023 Premier Chapter Award to the junior and senior chapters at Keystone Heights High School.

According to a Florida FFA news release, the Premier Chapter Award recognizes superior achievement by chapters in agricultural education and the FFA.

“To be eligible for this award, a chapter must be proficient in several areas, including alumni and community partnerships, financial planning, and public relations, along with recruitment and other FFA activities,” the organization said.

Both chapters were also recognized during the 96th National FFA Convention as three-star chapters.
