Keystone is SMAC softball runner-up

Keystone Heights Junior High School’s softball team finished as the Suwannee Middle Athletic Conference runner-up after losing 11-1 to second seed Fort White in the April 25 tournament championship game in Lake Butler.

Bailey Amato had the only hits for the fourth seed Indians (4-8), going 2 for 3. One of her hits was a double that led off the top of the fourth. She would advance to third on a ground out by Grace Keaton and score the team’s lone run on an error.

Fort White finished the season with a 14-1-1 record.
