Keystone Heights High School got a goal each from Luke Brunt (penalty kick) and Aaron Wiley in a 2-2 tie in a Jan. 8 boys soccer match against visiting Crescent City.
Bryce Huntley recorded an assist for the Indians, who are now 10-1-2 and ranked 20th in the Florida High School Athletic Association’s Class 3A power rankings.
Wiley now has 23 goals this season. Among stats that have been posted on MaxPreps, he is second in goals scored in Class 3A and tied for sixth in the state overall.
Keystone entered the Christmas break off a 1-0 win over visiting Class 4A Fernandina Beach on Dec. 19. A.J. Nilsen scored off a Brunt assist, while goalie Tomas Harrigan made nine saves.
The Indians returned to action with a 7-0 win over Class 2A Trenton on Jan. 4 in Trenton. Brunt, Huntley and Wiley each scored two goals, while Landon Spence added one. One of Brunt’s goals was off a penalty kick.
Huntley is currently tied for sixth in Class 3A in goals scored (17).
Brunt recorded two assists and currently has 14 for the season. That ties him for second in Class 3A and ties him for eighth overall in Florida.
Huntley and Sammy Wacha each had one assist in the win over Trenton.
The Indians host Interlachen on Friday, Jan. 12, at 7 p.m. They travel to play Williston on Monday, Jan. 15, at 7 p.m. before returning home to play Trinity Christian on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 6 p.m.
