Keystone Heights High School placed third at the Oct. 28 District 5-1A boys golf tournament in Gainesville, missing out on an automatic regional berth by one spot.
The top two teams in each of the four district tournaments in Region 2 automatically advanced. An additional four teams will receive at-large berths.
P.K. Yonge won the District 5 championship with an 18-hole score of 341, while Oak Hall was second with a score of 345.
The Indians had a team score of 359, putting them one stroke ahead of fourth-place Newberry.
Keystone was led by Baylor Ford, who finished in a two-way tie for 12th with a score of 86. He had a birdie and made par on four holes.
Nate Bardier and Sammy Wacha were involved in a three-way tie for 19th in the 49-player field. Each shot a 90, with Wacha making par on four holes and Bardier making par on three.
Will Begue made par on five holes and finished with a 26th-place score of 93.
Landon Spence, who made par on two holes, shot a 95, finishing in a four-way tie for 27th.
