KHHS boys soccer team heads into break off 4-4 tie

Logan Spence scored two goals for the Keystone Heights High School boys soccer team, which finished in a 4-4 tie against visiting Hamilton County on Dec. 17.

Chris Anderson and Jayden Park each scored a goal for the Indians, who played their last match before the Christmas break.

Aaron Wiley tallied two assists, while Skylar Kedgley and Jacob Lepanton each had one.

Keystone (6-5-3) entered the match off a 5-2 loss at P.K. Yonge on Dec. 15. Spence scored both goals off assists from Lepanto and Luke Brunt.

The Indians’ junior varsity team, which is 3-6-1, was victorious over Hamilton County on Dec. 17, defeating the Trojans 2-0. Ryder Thomas scored off a A.J. Nilsen assist, while Bryce Huntley had a successful penalty kick.

Goalies Jimmy Callahan and Eli Ortiz combined to make seven saves.

Keystone’s varsity team returns to action on Tuesday, Jan. 4, with a 7 p.m. match at Newberry. The Indians then host Fernandina Beach on Thursday, Jan. 6, at 6:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Jan. 8, the JV and varsity teams play at Baker County, with the JV match starting at 10 a.m. and the varsity match starting at noon.

The Indians’ varsity team returns home to play Williston on Tuesday, Jan. 11, at 7:20 p.m.
