Keystone Heights High School played the first of just two home matches it’ll play in December prior to the Christmas/New Year’s break, with visiting Columbia winning 1-0 on Dec. 4.

Goalie Sammy Wacha made several saves in the 12th, 13th and 14th minutes. Teammate Aaron Wiley got a good look at the goal in the 15th minute, with the Columbia goalie making a save.

Both teams’ goalies made saves after the water break as the match remained scoreless at halftime.

Columbia, a Class 5A school, found the net in the 41st minute, which would be the only goal it needed to defeat the Class 3A Indians.

The Indians (5-4-1) followed the match with a 2-1 loss at fellow 3A school Fernandina Beach on Dec. 6.

It was Keystone’s third loss in a row.

Noah Jaramillo scored the Indians’ lone goal off a Trenton Noble assist.

Keystone travels to Jacksonville to play Trinity Christian on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 7:20 p.m. and then travels to play District 4 opponent Palatka on Friday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m.

On Monday, Dec. 16, the Indians travel to play district opponent Interlachen at 7 p.m.
