Keystone Heights High School earned the first-place boys and girls team trophies at the Sept. 16 Indian Invite, which was held at Trinity Camp.
It was the first cross-country meet hosted by Keystone since 2011.
The varsity boys race saw the Indians top runner-up Baker County by 21 points. Clay placed third, followed by Trinity Christian, Crescent City and Palatka.
Tyler Griffin led the Keystone boys with a runner-up finish. His time of 17:43 left him trailing Baker County’s Troy Winkler by 22 seconds.
Ryder Thomas and Hunter Sheppard also placed in the top 10. Thomas had a sixth-place time of 19:21, while Sheppard was 10th with a time of 20:06.
The Indians’ Jaden Park and Anthony Peak were right behind Sheppard, placing 11th and 12th, respectively, with times of 20:11 and 20:19.
Bryce Huntley also earned a top-20 finish in the 46-runner field with a 19th-place time of 21:26.
Also running for Keystone were Kipton Spence (22:43), Jason Parales (23:14) and Josiah Durrenberger (23:28).
The varsity girls race featured two full teams. Keystone had a score of 27 to edge Clay, which had a score of 31.
Olivia Griffin placed second individually for Keystone with a time of 22:22, which left her trailing Clay’s Erika Marinez by 23 seconds.
Keystone had four top-10 finishes in all in the 19-runner race. Melody Tyre was sixth with a time of 26:57, while Cali Chamberlain and Ella Hutchins were ninth and 10th, respectively, with times of 28:21 and 28:36.
Also running for the Indians were Brook Graudons (28:52), Madilyn Miller (30:00) and Clara Beth Robinson (32:55).
Elyn Reddish, a homeschool student who represents Keystone Running Club, had a time of 29:19.
The combined boys and girls junior varsity race consisted of 44 runners. Keystone’s Mason Gray placed seventh with a time of 24:20, while Hunter Gray was 14th with a time of 26:08. Eli Rabe had a 17th-place time of 26:49.
Oliver Miller ran a time of 32:53, while Schiley Starling had a time of 33:24, which was sixth best among girls runners.
Keystone’s Kristin Lavin also ran, finishing at 36:37.
