KHHS defeats Middleburg for 4-0 start to girls hoops season

Keystone Heights High School improved to 4-0, defeating host Middleburg 40-20 in a girls basketball game on Nov. 29.

Lindsay Qualls and Madi Mitzel had eight of the Indians’ 16 field goals, with Qualls scoring a team-high 11 points. Mitzel, who scored six of the team’s 14 second-quarter points finished with eight.

Kiley Channell almost reached double digits in points, knocking down two three-pointers and finishing with nine points. She and Qualls were each 3-of-4 from the foul line.

Dezaray Bright added four points, while Yasmin Bryant, Emma Rogel, Rachel Roth and Kasey Valentine each had two.

Keystone travels to play Ridgeview tonight at 7 p.m. and will host Palatka on Thursday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. The Indians then host Lake Weir on Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 6:30 p.m.
