KHHS defeats Raiders 26-0 in flag football

Keystone Heights High School earned a shutout win over Crescent City in between losses to Mandarin and Buchholz in flag football.

The Indians lost 28-6 at Mandarin on Feb. 27, though Riley Shuford caught seven passes for 135 yards and one touchdown.

Alee Horton rushed for 148 yards on 10 carries.

Alyssa Sanford led the defense with six tackles.

On March 3, Keystone traveled to Crescent City for a 26-0 win. Shuford caught three passes for 105 yards and two touchdowns, while Whitnee Buchanan caught four passes for 35 yards and a score. Aubre Miller had two receptions for 25 yards and a touchdown.

Shuford and Kamryn Finch each had an interception for the defense, which also got seven tackles and two sacks from Ashley McCarthy.

A 39-14 loss at Buchholz on March 4 saw Horton complete 5 of 10 passes for 88 yards and a touchdown.

Buchanan caught the touchdown pass, finishing with five receptions for 29 yards.

Shuford caught two passes for 65 yards, while Horton had two receptions for 25 yards.

Horton rushed for 70 yards and one touchdown on eight carries.

Ashlyn Brown completed 7 of 13 passes for 54 yards.

The defense got five tackles from Sanford and one interception each from Horton and Shuford.

Keystone lost 14-7 to visiting Middleburg on March 6 and defeated visiting Oakleaf 20-13 on March 10. Stats weren’t available as of this posting.

The Indians (4-4) host Forest on Tuesday, March 11, at 7 p.m. and will host Suwannee on Thursday, March 13, at 7 p.m.
