KHHS drops boys golf matches to Clay, P.K.

Keystone Heights High School got a third-place finish from Jackson McDaniel in dropping a Sept. 22 boys golf match against Clay in Green Cove Springs.

The Indians finished with a team score of 178, which had them trailing Clay by nine strokes.

McDaniel made par on three holes as he shot a 42.

Will Begue and Baylor Ford each shot a 45 as they were part of a five-way tie for fourth. Each made par on three holes.

Landon Spence, who made par on three holes, had a ninth-place score of 46, while Nate Bardier and Luke Lewis each had a score of 47 in finishing as part of a three-way tie for 10th. Bardier made par on three holes, while Lewis made par on two.

Keystone entered the match off a Sept. 16 loss to P.K. Yonge in Gainesville. The host Blue Wave had a score of 167 to the Indians’ 183.

Begue and McDaniel each had a score of 44 to finish tied for fourth. McDaniel made par on two holes, while Begue made par on one.

Spence was seventh with a score of 47, while Ford and Sammy Wacha were eighth and ninth, respectively, with scores of 48 and 49. All made par on two holes.

Bardier, who made par on one hole, shot a 12th-place score of 52.

Keystone will play Bradford and Middleburg on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 4 p.m. at the Starke Golf and Country Club.
