Jamari Turner was the champion in one event for Keystone Heights High School, which earned a total of seven boys and girls regional berths at the District 3-2A track and field meet, which was held April 29 at Bolles in Jacksonville.
The top four in each event earned the right to advance to the Region 1 meet, which will be held Tuesday, May 7, at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. The field events begin at 11 a.m., while the running events begin at noon.
Turner won the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:07, while the boys 4x800m relay team of Tyler Griffin, Ryder Thomas, Ryeland Wahl and Hunter Sheppard was runner-up with a time of 9:04.
Cali Chamberlain was a runner-up for the girls team with a time of 1:20 in the 400m hurdles.
Jaden Park was third in the boys javelin with a distance of 125-10.
The boys 4x400m relay team of Griffin, Park, Wahl and Tyler Sapp ran a fourth-place time of 3:46.
Two girls relay teams earned fourth-place finishes. Kaylee Park, Laila Briseno, Christine Djavaheri and Kenslee Phillips teamed up to run 57.04 in the 4x100m, while the 4x400m team of Chamberlain, Djavaheri, Phillips and Olivia Griffin had a time of 4:54.
Griffin just missed qualifying in the girls 800m with a fifth-place time of 2:38.
The girls team also got points from Park and Djavaheri, who were seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 200m with times of 28.55 and 28.56.
Luke Lewis contributed to the boys team scoring with a sixth-place distance of 93-7 in the javelin.
The boys team got seventh-place finishes from Griffin in the 800m (2:17) and Thomas in the 1600m (4:49). Wahl was eighth in the 800m (2:18), while Sheppard was eighth in the 1600m (5:06).
Thomas placed eighth in the 3200m with a time of 11:17.
Other boys results were: 100m — Park 11.89, Turner 12.06, Josiah Durrenberger 12.18, Carter Andrews 16.2; 200m — Park 24.72, Sapp 26.02, De’Shawn Williams 27.83, Andrews 36.01; 400m — Sapp 56.59, Durrenberger 57.55, Williams 1:06; 800m — Sheppard 2:20, Jason Parales 2:40; 1600m — Parales 5:45; long jump — Turner 16-4.5, Williams 15-6.75; and shot put — Ricardo Rosario 32-11.
Keystone also had the following girls results: 100m — Djavaheri 13.59, Briseno 14.56, Brook Graudons 15.4, Jasmine Walls 16.26; 200m — Chamberlain 30.39, Briseno 31.54; and 400m — Phillips 1:14, Graudons 1:18, Walls 1:20.
