KHHS girls golfers take 2nd in 1st match

Keystone Heights High School opened the girls golf season at Hawkstone Country Club on Aug. 24, with the Indians placing second against host Buchholz.

The Indians had a team score of 203 to finish 36 strokes behind Buchholz. Keystone was 16 strokes ahead of Oak Hall.

Candace Jackson led Keystone with a score of 39, which tied her for second with Savannah Wroath of Buchholz. Jackson, who was four strokes behind Braydn Smith of Buchholz, shot par on six holes.

M.J. Rivera was sixth with a score of 47, while Mia Rivera tied for ninth with a score of 56. Each shot par on one hole.

Rexi Lewis and Rebecca Binet each shot a 61 to finish tied for 13th.

The Indians play Palatka at Palatka Golf Club on Wednesday, Aug. 31, at 4 p.m. They then travel to play Oakleaf at Eagle Landing Golf Club on Thursday, Sept. 1, at 4 p.m.
