Visiting Clay defeated the Keystone Heights High School girls basketball team 44-22 on Dec. 15, handing the Indians their second straight loss after a 5-0 start.
Keystone got seven points from Alexandra Papaioannou and six points each from Raven Bastin and Daisy Hubbard. Rigby Morford added three points.
Morford grabbed a team-high nine rebounds. Hubbard and Bastin had eight and seven rebounds, respectively, while Papaioannou had five.
Bastin had six of her team’s 10 steals.
In earlier action, the Indians earned their fifth straight win by defeating visiting West Nassau 40-31 on Dec. 11.
Hubbard led Keystone with 13 points, while Morford and Papaioannou each had eight. The Indians also got five points from Bastin, four points from Grace Keaton and two points from Melissa Williams.
Rebounding leaders were Morford with 12 and Hubbard and Kadence Massey with six each. Keaton added five rebounds.
Massey and Papaioannou each had five steals, with Massey also recording nine assists.
The Indians dropped their first game of the season when they lost 49-38 to host Palatka on Dec. 12.
Hubbard and Bastin scored 17 and 14 points, respectively. Massey had three points, while Keaton and Maria Papaioannou each had two.
Massey recorded eight assists and had three steals, while Morford led the team in rebounds with 13.
Keaton grabbed five rebounds.
Keystone hosts Chiefland on Friday, Dec. 19, at 6 p.m.
The Indians will play in a tournament at Clay High School on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 22-23. Their first game will be against Union County on Dec. 22 at 2:30 p.m.
