KHHS girls open hoops season with big win over Hope

Keystone Heights High School opened girls basketball season with a 48-10 win over host Hope Christian Academy on Nov. 17, with 10 players putting themselves in the scoring column.

Rigby Morford led the Indians with 10 points, while Raven Bastin, Daisy Hubbard and Grace Keaton each had six. Keystone also got four points each from Shalin Grice, Alexandra Papaioannou, Maria Papaioannou and Kadence Massey and two points each from Kirsten Lavin and Melissa Williams.

Maria Papaioannou led the team in rebounds with eight, while Massey and Williams each had seven. Bastin grabbed six rebounds, while Hubbard and Morford each had five.

Bastin also added eight steals and three assists to her totals. Keaton, Massey and Williams each had four steals, with Keaton also recording three assists.

Hope was led by Makenzie McRaney’s five points. The Lions also got three points from Morgan Cass and two points from Maddie McCloud.

The Indians will return to action with a road game against Union County on Monday, Dec. 1, at 6 p.m.

Hope hosts St. Joseph Academy on Friday, Nov. 21, at 6:30 p.m.
