KHHS girls remain perfect after holiday break, defeat Suwannee 3-2

Keystone travels to play Eastside on Thursday, Jan. 20, at 5 p.m. and then travels to play Fort White on Friday, Jan. 21, at 6 p.m.

The District 4-3A tournament begins Wednesday, Jan. 26, at Newberry High School. The schedule wasn’t known by deadline.

Keystone Heights High School won its fifth straight match on Jan. 17, defeating visiting Suwannee 3-2.

Ella Hutchins, Kiersten Shaw and Elizabeth Waughon each scored a goal for the Indians, who haven’t lost since returning to action after the Christmas/New Year’s break. Hutchins and Waughon also had one assist each, while Sydnie Colaw had an assist as well.

Goalie Miranda Yow made 11 saves.

The Indians (12-5-2) recorded a pair of shutout wins prior to playing Suwannee. On Jan. 11, Shaw scored five goals in an 8-0 win over visiting Williston.

Kendall Gagnon scored two goals and had an assist, while Waughon scored one goal. Alee Horton recorded an assist.

On Jan. 13, Shaw scored both goals in a 2-0 win over visiting Crescent City.

Yow made two saves.
