Keystone Heights High School hosted Union County in girls tennis on April 3, with the Indians winning 6-1 and improving their record to 6-2.
The Indians swept doubles play, with the number-one team of Tara Tarvit and Whitnee Buchanan defeating Jordan Hendricks and Bailey Handley 8-4, while the number-two team of Shaylyn Williams and Raegan Feldpausch defeated Morgyn Kirby and Madison Starling 8-1.
Tarvit earned an 8-5 win over Hendricks at number-one singles, while the Tigers’ Kirby took an 8-5 win over Williams at the number-two spot.
Keystone won the number-three through number-five singles matches, with Buchanan defeating Handley 8-2, Feldpausch defeating Rylie Parrish 8-0 and Sarah Siebert defeating Jewel Dekle 8-1.
The Indians entered the match off a 7-0 win over Middleburg on March 30.
In singles play, Tarvit won 8-3, Williams won 8-2 and Buchanan, Feldpausch and Siebert each won 8-0.
Tarvit and Buchanan won in doubles 8-1, while Williams and Feldpausch teamed up for an 8-0 win.
Union entered the match off a 5-2 loss to Columbia on March 30. Both win came in singles, with Hendricks topping her opponent 8-4 and Kirby coming out on top 8-3.
Prior to playing Columbia, the Tigers earned a 5-2 win over Newberry on March 16.
Union came out on top in the number-one and number-two singles matchups, with Hendricks winning 8-1 and Kirby winning 8-2. Parrish won 8-2 at the number-five spot.
Handley lost a close one at number-three singles, falling 9-8, while Dekle dropped an 8-3 match at the number-four spot.
The Tigers swept doubles play, with Hendricks and Handley teaming up for an 8-3 win and Kirby and Starling recording an 8-2 win.
