KHHS girls win 3rd straight in basketball

Keystone Heights High School defeated visiting Middleburg 46-11 on Jan. 6 to improve to 12-5 in girls basketball.

Yasmin Bryant led the Indians with 14 points, while Kiley Channell and Dezaray Bright had 13 and 11, respectively. Channell also had four assists and four steals, while Bright had three steals.

Keystone, which won its third straight game, also got two points each Alana Anderson, Kaitlin Brown, Bryanna Channell and McKinlee Kirkland.

The Indians entered the game off a 43-22 win at Clay on Jan. 5. Bright and Bryant scored 12 and 10 points, respectively, with Bright also grabbing 14 rebounds. Bryant added three assists.

Keystone got six points each from Brown and Jaynell Hill, five points from Kiley Channell and two points each from Anderson and Kadence Massey. Brown and Channell each grabbed 10 rebounds, while Channell also had five steals.

Hill had three steals.

The Indians travel to play Bradford on Thursday, Jan. 12, at 6 p.m. and then travel to play St. Augustine on Friday, Jan. 13, at 7 p.m.

Keystone plays Fleming Island in an MLK tournament at Orange Park High School on Monday, Jan. 16, at 6 p.m.
