KHHS soccer teams enter break off wins

Keystone Heights High School played its last boys and girls soccer matches of 2024, with both teams winning.

The girls team got six goals and one assist from Kayden Huntley in defeating District 4-3A opponent Palatka 8-0 on Dec. 19 in Palatka. It was the third straight win for the Indians (10-4-2), who are now 4-0 against district competition.

Kayle Buchanan and Kaylee Park each had one goal and one assist.

Tayler Buchanan led the team in assists with three.

Dallas Da’Crosta and Alyssa Townsend each added one assist.

Goalie Aspen Krohn made two saves.

The boys team picked up its fourth straight win, getting goals from Luke Brunt off a corner kick and a penalty kick in defeating visiting Class 5A Middleburg 2-1 on Dec. 19. Keystone improved its record to 9-4-1.

Keystone’s girls team will return to action first after the holiday break with a home game against Ridgeview on Tuesday, Jan. 7, at 7:20 p.m.

Both teams will travel to play Newberry on Wednesday, Jan. 8. The girls match will start at 5 p.m., followed by the boys match at 7 p.m.

Corner and penalty kicks by Luke Brunt gave Keystone a 2-1 win over Middleburg.
