Kiley Channell drove in three runs, while pitcher Caitlyn Frampton gave up four hits in the Keystone Heights High School softball team’s 9-1 win at Creekside on April 14.
The Indians (11-7) scored five runs in the second inning to take a 6-1 lead. Kinley Carlton hit a leadoff double, while Saige Dennis reached on an error. Delia Johnson and Jaiden Robinson hit back-to-back RBI singles. Robinson later scored when Emma Rogel reached on a fielder’s choice. Rogel scored the inning’s fourth run on a passed ball, while Channell hit a run-scoring single to make it 6-1.
Channell, Alaina Kinsal and Abbie Roach each went 2 for 5, with Roach driving in two runs and Kinsal hitting a double.
Johnson and Carlton went 3 for 3 and 3 for 4, respectively, with Johnson finishing with one RBI.
Rogel and Robinson each finished with one RBI.
Frampton went the distance in the circle, giving up two walks and striking out five.
The Indians entered the game off a 6-3 win over visiting Ridgeview on April 12.
Keystone scored four unanswered runs after falling behind 3-2. The Indians took the lead for good after a two-run second inning. Robinson reached on a single, stole second and scored on a Rogel single. Two outs later, Rogel scored on a passed ball to make the score 4-3.
Rogel, Carlton and Kinsal each had one RBI, while Madi Mitzel went 3 for 4 with a double.
Frampton pitched the first four innings, giving up three runs on three hits. Mitzel threw the final three innings, allowing four hits and one walk.
The Indians host Interlachen on Tuesday, April 19, at 6:30 p.m. and will host West Nassau on Thursday, April 21, at 7 p.m. Keystone travels to play University Christian on Friday, April 22, at 6:30 p.m.
On Tuesday, April 26, Keystone travels to play Baker County at 6 p.m.
