KHHS tennis teams earn wins in last home matches

Keystone Heights High School won its eighth straight match in boys tennis, defeating visiting Ridgeview 4-3 on April 1.

The Indians (9-1) swept doubles play, with Evan Booth and Dalton Moore teaming up to win 8-1 and Curran Capper and Ethan Teague teaming up to win 8-4.

Moore also earned an 8-1 win at number-one singles, while Will Begue took an 8-0 win at the number-four spot.

Keystone wraps up its regular season with a match against Eastside on Tuesday, April 8, at 3:30 p.m. at Gainesville’s Tom Petty Park.

The Indians earned a 6-1 win in girls tennis over visiting Newberry on April 3 before ending their regular season with a 7-0 loss at Eastside on April 7.

Keystone (7-6) swept singles play against Newberry, with Alli Tisdale and Avrylle Wilson earning 8-0 wins at the number-three and number-five spots. Whitnee Buchanan and Addison Smith won 8-6 and 8-2, respectively, at the top two spots, while Kerrington Norman won 8-1.

The doubles team of Maria Papaioannou and Rachel Blank won 8-2.
