KHHS volleyball team goes 1-4 in tournament, falls to 4-10

Keystone Heights High School competed in the Sept. 13-14 Jacksonville Juniors Volleyball Association River City Classic, going 1-1 on the first day before ultimately finishing 1-4.

The Indians (4-10) began play with a 2-0 (25-16, 25-12) loss to Orange Park on Sept. 13. Keystone then defeated Rickards 2-1 (14-25, 25-21, 15-6) that same day.

Keystone dropped all three matches it played on Sept. 14, losing 2-0 (25-15, 25-18) to Union County, 2-1 (14-25, 25-22, 15-7) to St. Johns Country Day and 2-0 (25-13, 25-13) loss to Savannah, Georgia’s Calvary Day.

The Indians entered the tournament off a 3-1 (25-7, 25-19, 19-25, 25-21) road win over Bradford on Sept. 10.

Keystone hosts Union on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at 7 p.m. following a junior varsity match at 6 p.m. The Indians then host Eastside on Thursday, Sept. 19, with the JV teams playing at 6 p.m. and the varsity teams playing at 7 p.m.

The Indians travel to play matches against Interlachen on Monday, Sept. 23, and Baker County on Tuesday, Sept. 24. Both matches begin at 7 p.m. following JV matches at 6 p.m.
