Are you the parent of a child turning 5 on or before Sept. 1, 2022? If so, we’ve got what you’ve been waiting for! That’s right. It’s time to get your child registered for an exciting adventure with the start of kindergarten ahead in August 2022.
Bradford County Schools are pleased to host in-person events for parents and future Class of 2035 Tornadoes who will begin kindergarten in August.
The sessions are at:
—Lawtey Elementary, 904-966-6795, on Wednesday, April 27, at 9 a.m.
—Southside Elementary, 904-966-6061, on Friday, April 29, at 8:15 a.m.
—Starke Elementary, 904-966-6045, on Friday, April 29, at 8:15 a.m.
Not sure which session to attend? The address of your primary residence will determine the zoning of your child. If you’re unsure, call the BCSD Transportation Department at 904-966-6734. They will be glad to provide this information for you.
Each event will allow the opportunity to meet school administrators and have a chance to catch a glimpse of a kindergarten classroom including students and teachers in action. You’ll leave with a special treat to excite your child even more about this important next step.
Don’t worry about completing a paper application before you visit the school. The registration process is now completed online. You will need paper documents to support registration which include:
—birth certificate.
—a school entry health exam performed within 12 months prior to the first day of school.
—a required immunization certification.
—proof of residency including rental agreement or mortgage documents, plus a utility statement.
—a photo ID or driver’s license of the parent/guardian.
A voluntary collection of the child’s Social Security card, which may be used for specific purposes including Medicaid eligibility and billing, scholarship applications, state assessments, and driver’s licenses, round out the required registration documents to go along with the registration packet.
A student is not considered enrolled until all documents have been received.
