The St. Johns River Water Management District said Lake Brooklyn’s water level increased by six-tenths of a foot during September, bringing it to around 107 feet above sea level and above the lake’s average level of about 102 feet.
Christine Mundy, the district’s bureau chief of Water Resource Information, said that although September rainfall throughout the district’s 18-county area was less than one-half inch below the monthly average of 6.74 inches, precipitation varied widely throughout the district.
Mundy reported that areas along the Bradford-Clay County line, including the Lake Region, received less than three inches of rainfall during September, while over a foot of rain fell on parts of Flagler and Volusia counties.
