Lake Region Kiwanis donated an additional $5,000 during the Keystone Heights High School Marching Band Concert on Friday, December 5th, to help fund new uniforms for the band.

This year, Kiwanis dedicated its fundraising efforts to support the KHHS marching band in acquiring new uniforms, which are urgently needed. The total cost of the new uniforms is $40,000, and it has been years since the band last received a uniform upgrade.

“Thank you to our community, and Kiwanis is our biggest supporter. They are here all the time, just working hard for our kids. Our band students and our band instructor are doing an amazing job. Thank you all for coming out,” said Laurie Burke, Keystone Heights Junior-Senior High School Principal

At the beginning of 2025, Lake Region Kiwanis raised $8,300 and was recently presented with a $5,000 grant from the Clay Electric Foundation through Operation Roundup.

Keystone Plumbing and the Pangborn Ice Cream Shop have also contributed to fundraising efforts, and the marching band has raised $4,000, bringing the total to $19,000.

However, an additional $20,000 in funds is still needed.

During the general meeting held on December 4th, the Lake Region Kiwanis inducted four new members. Congratulations to the new members.
