The Lake Region Kiwanis officer installation was filled with laughter and marked the bittersweet moment of the outgoing officers stepping down.

The ceremony took place at the Keystone Heights Methodist Church in Keystone Heights.

Karen Lake, outgoing president, used her final day in office to have some fun by giving away a variety of amusing trinkets. From a pan with a drumstick to rubber noise-making chickens, a slingshot, jacks, and other memorable items, it was a witty and unforgettable moment for the Kiwanis board members, marking a historical event.

Lake discussed all the achievements that were accomplished during the 2024-2025 year.

Tina Bullock was recognized as a Distinguished Member.

This year, the club earned 115 points and was identified as a Club of Distinction. Several requirements and points must be met to achieve this honor, all of which were successfully fulfilled.

At the end of the meeting, the gavel was passed to Fred Goetzman, who became the new president. Keith Hatch is next in line and will follow him as president-elect.
