A Public Meeting has been scheduled for the Sole Purpose of Discussing Proposed Improvements to Brooker Town Park to be funded by the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program (FRDAP)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the ordinance, which title hereinafter appears, will be considered for enactment by the Board of County Commissioners of Bradford County, Florida, at a public hearing on August 15, 2024 at 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, in the in the Governor Charley E. Johns Conference Center located at 1610 North Temple Avenue, Starke, Florida.  A copy of the ordinance may be inspected by any member of the public at the Office of the County Clerk located at 945 North Temple Avenue, Courthouse North Wing, Starke, Florida, during regular business hours.  On the date, time and place first above mentioned, all interested persons may appear and be heard with respect to the ordinance.  The title of said ordinance reads, as follows:

AN ORDINANCE OF BRADFORD COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING ATLAS OF THE BRADFORD COUNTY LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS, AS AMENDED; RELATING TO THE REZONING OF TEN OR LESS CONTIGUOUS ACRES OF LAND, PURSUANT TO AN APPLICATION, Z 24-06, BY THE PROPERTY OWNERS OF SAID ACREAGE; PROVIDING FOR CHANGING THE ZONING DISTRICT FROM COMMERCIAL, INTENSIVE (CI) TO AGRICULTURAL (A-2) OF CERTAIN LANDS WITHIN THE UNINCORPORATED AREA OF BRADFORD COUNTY, FLORIDA; PROVIDING SEVERABILITY; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE

All persons are advised that if they decide to appeal any decision made at the above referenced public hearing they will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for such purpose, they may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.

BUDGET WORKSHOP

The City of Lake Butler City Commission will hold a THIRD BUDGET WORKSHOP on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 5:00pm at the City Commission Chambers located at 200 SW 1st Street Lake Butler, FL 32054. The THIRD BUDGET WORKSHOP will be to discuss and prepare for the tentative 2024-2025 Fiscal Year Annual Operating Budget and Millage Rate.

Request for Qualifications

Engineering Services

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Lake Butler (“City”) invites Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) for a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and will receive submittals until 4:00 pm on August 31. 2024.

Synopsis: The City, in conformance with the Consultants’ Competitive Negotiations Act (CCNA), Florida Statutes Section 287.055, and the policies andprocedures of the City of Lake Butler is soliciting SOQs from qualified professional engineering firms for the re-roofing, re-flooring, and new windows of the historic Townsend Building.  

Submittal Requirements: SOQs must be prepared in conformance with the “Format and Content of Statement of Qualifications Submittals” section of the RFQ.  Ten (10) copies shall be submitted in one sealed package, clearly marked on the outside “Sealed SOQ for Engineering Services for Rehabilitation of the Townsend Building, (RFQ#1),” and addressed to:

Submittals will be publicly opened during the Lake Butler City Commission meeting at 200 SW 1st Street, Lake Butler, Florid, in thepresence of City officials, on September 17, 2024, beginning at 6:00 pm or thereafter.  Selection of the firm by the City will be October 23, 2024. Respondentsare invited to be present at both meetings.

The City of Lake Butler trash pickup policy states that outside the months of April and October for beautification, the items below will REQUIRE a service charge:

Large Items(Furniture, appliances, etc.) $25.00 PER ITEM

Leaves & yard trimmings MUST be bagged $25.00 PER TRAILER LOAD

Limb Piles -cut into 4 ft length $25.00 PER TRAILER LOAD

Please contact City Hall at 386-496-3401 to arrange for an estimate and pickup as pickups will only be by schedule.

Items that the city will pick up free of charge.

  • Bagged leaves/yard trimmings (LIMIT OF 10 BAGS)
  • Small pile of limbs MUST be cut in 4 feet lengths
