KEYSTONE HEIGHTS— Clay Electric said Cindy Loose was elected as the co-op’s newest trustee for District 1.
Voting was conducted from Jan. 17 through March 13. The utility said more than 13,600 members voted by mail or digitally during the two-month voting period.
Loose, a Keystone Heights Junior-Senior High School teacher, ran unopposed after being the only candidate nominated during the Jan. 6 district meeting in Keystone Heights. She takes over the District 1 seat from her father, Carl Hagglund, who died on Oct. 22.
For other trustee seats up for votes this year, incumbents Kelley Smith in District 2: Palatka, Carl Malphurs in District 4: Gainesville and Jimmy Wilson in District 6: Orange Park were all re-elected.
Like Loose, the three trustees ran unopposed. However, members could have voted for write-in candidates during the voting period.
The co-op’s 85th annual meeting will be held Saturday, March 25, at the Keystone Heights Junior-Senior High School football stadium.
