Man cut doughnuts in front yard, choked woman

STARKE— A 34-year-old aStarke man was arrested after he allegedly damaged his family’s front yard and then strangled a family member, partially pulling her through a broken window.

Christopher Wayne Olive, 34, was arrested on Sunday, Jan. 22 by Starke police for domestic battery.

An arrest report stated that the defendant arrived home and cut doughnuts in the family’s front yard, then threw a full can of beer at a bedroom window, shattering the pane.

The victim told arresting officer Michael P. Gillick that she ran to a bedroom to check on the welfare of her two sleeping children.

“(The victim) stated she then attempted to look out the window at which time Olive grasped her by the throat,” wrote Gillick. “The victim stated that she was unable to breathe, and that Olive dragged her out of the window.”

The victim received superficial cuts to her arms, hands, back and stomach during the struggle.
