Union County’s Zoey Marshall, competing with Gainesville’s Supreme Performance Athletics, won two events at the AAU Region 9 Qualifier at Winter Garden’s West Orange High School, qualifying for the AAU Junior Olympics in the process.
Marshall, competing in the 12-year-old division, sprinted her way to a win in the 200m with a time of 26.06. The second-place finisher had a time of 26.12.
In the 400m, Marshall crossed the line in 59.02, with the runner-up finishing in 59.87.
Marshall was also part of Supreme Performance Athletics’ 4x100m relay team, which placed second with a time of 54.53. The winning time was 51.23.
The AAU Junior Olympics track-and-field event will take place July 28-Aug. 2 in Humble, Texas.
Marshall will next compete in the AAU Club Championships, which will be held July 8-12 at Jacksonville’s University of North Florida.
